Dr. Michael Thomas

Hi! I'm Dr. Michael Thomas. I was born and raised here in Anchorage, completing my undergraduate studies at the University of Alaska Anchorage (2009) then dental school at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry (2015), and later a Master's degree from Harvard University (2020).

My experiences in dentistry have spanned from the East Coast to an American Indian reservation in the Upper Midwest and Tribal Health in the Northwest Arctic of Alaska, and now with Thomas Dental!

I realize that dentistry means different things to different people -from self-conscious or unpleasant experiences, all the way to health and a beautiful smile. With each patient, I seek to understand where they are and what goals they have, then to develop a plan for their unique circumstances and desires. In all treatment, I seek to ensure the same quality, gentleness and care that a family member or I would want to receive. With each dental visit, the goal is that you feel safe, understood and on your way toward better health!

Cleaning and Prevention

We provide a basic teeth cleaning, with tips for home care, the right products to use for your teeth, as well as a thorough exam.

We will come up with a plan together, using a variety of services to improve your smile and your self-confidence, from crowns to teeth whitening, making you feel your best in your own smile!

Cosmetic Dentistry

Extractions

If needed, we provide extraction services such as oral surgery,

and wisdom teeth removal.

Orthodontics

Using products such as Smile Shapers, we can work to fix crooked, overlapping, or rotated teeth.

Tooth Replacement

Depending on your unique needs, we will provide you with dentures, implants, or porcelain bridges.

We provide oral appliances to correct issues such as bite problems, sleep apnea or teeth grinding. We will work with you to get an appliance that fits your needs!

I actually drove the 55 miles out of my way to see Dr. Thomas for two front teeth crown replacements (critical work) because my local dental clinics aplenty vary widely on reliability and a trusted friend said go here. I was pleasantly surprised by a dentist who has a very articulate manner along with an approachable and THOROUGH personality; someone that genuinely cares about the outcome and requests satisfaction feedback throughout the process. Over two necessary visits the work was performed way beyond my best expectations and I would sent anyone to Thomas Dental over any Alaska dentist anytime! His assistant, Sarah and he work like one together and it's pretty darned amazing to experience even on an objective level (believe me, I've been to *many* dentists with lifetime prior dental work to prove it!) All said, I can see how this is an excellent choice for dental intervention at any level by ANY age group.
